Thank you for your participation in the Willingness Study. We heard from over 230 residents and ratepayers on how the community’s willingness to host the NWMO’s Adaptive Phase Management Project should be determined.

GHD was hired by the Municipality to undertake the Willingness Study which was guided by Guiding Principle #9 “The Municipality will, in collaboration with community members, develop and establish an open and transparent process that will allow the community to express its level of willingness to host the Project”.

The Engagement Summary Report, prepared by GHD, documents the results of consultation that took place including how the community was engaged and what was said. The draft of the report was available from September 3 to September 24, 2021 to the community to ensure input received was accurately captured. The final report was presented to Council on November 9th, 2021 and it can be found (along with appendices) on the Studies and Reports page of the Municipal website.

Beginning in 2022, Council will use the defined process to begin determining the willingness of the community.
