Thank you for your question and we apologize for the delay in responding.  This specific tree that you are referring to, is on the agenda to discuss at the next Tree Committee meeting tentatively set for March 18th, 2020.  We will keep you posted on the outcome of that meeting.  Thank you!

Lately, I have been hearing more negative opinions. There is talk of petition. We have always been told, it takes a 'willing host'. What does this procedure include? Thank you for your question. The Municipality of South Bruce remains as one of two communities continuing to learn about the Adaptive Phased Management (APM) project – Canada’s long-tern plan for the management of used nuclear fuel. South Bruce has not decided if we wish to host the project. The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is working towards choosing a single preferred site by 2023, at which time, should South Bruce be identified, we would need to determine if we are a willing host.

South Bruce has not yet determined how willingness will be demonstrated. A wide range of approaches will be considered, while being open to new ones that may emerge, as we continue to learn and to explore what the project might mean - if it were to come to South Bruce.

This type of forum hopefully will not just be a bashing/complaining group but a constructive avenue for not only problems but proposed solutions for that problem. on Facebook Share Not sure if the Mayor's coffee/question period is still happening as I haven't been for quite some time but I found the opportunity valuable not only for my own concerns but hearing other's opinions. Thank you for using South Bruce Switchboard!  You have made reference to the Mayor’s coffee/question period and I am not certain which specific event you are referring to.  However, the Municipality does host an annual Mayor’s Coffee Break in September to support Alzheimer’s and he also attends community events to provide updates as requested by various groups.  The Mayor use to have regular hours at the Mildmay Library, however due to low attendance within the last year, he no longer holds these hours.  Thank you for your inquiry.
